Cozumel Mother’s Day Part 2

About half of our group or so stayed an extra few days in Cozumel. 3 different families brought their mothers/fathers/daughters and we wanted to play “tourist” with the additional family members. One of our excursions were to jump on the ferry and travel across to the mainland. Our destination… Chichén Itzá.

If you ever have the opportunity to go to Cozumel, I’d definitely suggest taking the ferry across to the mainland. It was about 45 minutes. The cab driver that dropped us off at the ferry station recommended to buy a one way ticket since there are multiple ferry companies that travel back and forth and they won’t accept another ferry companies tickets. It just keeps you from getting stuck for 3 tickets when you only need two.

So this is a real pirate ship that travels around Cozumel but it is actually a dinner cruise from what I’ve researched.

Cozumel Mother’s Day Trip Part 1

In May we headed to Cozumel Mexico. By the time we left I think we all needed a vacation. It was hubby, Abug, my mom, my MIL, and me who were able to go this year along with some other people to round out our trip. It was a lot of fun and after the way my day started I’m ready for some more Vitamin D and Vitamin Sea until my attitude changes!

Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Memorial Day Weekend was spent at Beaver Lake. The night before we left to go down there, Deb and Grady said they were having difficulty getting all the trailers down so we volunteered to pull the dive trailer down for them. When we got to the lake, I had to giggle at the “big” truck pulling the little trailer. It’s a bathroom cleaner thing for campers but that sight just made me giggle so hard.

These 3 are back together again. Wow, did they make quite the team… they are the next round of shenanigan makers!

Meet ‘n Greet

Last year when we went to Cozumel we didn’t have a Meet ‘n Greet. It was a “shop” trip and we all knew each other. Now I say that and I knew most of the people going this year, but not everyone. We have a couple parents going that are non-divers and this was almost more for them.

My mom is leaving for Hawaii in a few days and wouldn’t be back until the week we leave so we threw this together at the last minute to allow everyone to meet. It just so happens it fell on Easter evening, but that’s okay. Most all of us had all our stuff done in plenty of time to come, plus we didn’t need much food because we were all stuffed.

Now we’re all excitedly anticipating our trip!!

Day Trips

Yesterday we went to Kansas City. Why? Just cause pretty much. Karen had things she wanted to return to the Duluth Trading Company store up there and I like to go to Kansas City. I decided while we were there though I needed to twist her arm and go to the Farmer’s Market. They have the best Farmer’s Market up there.

Hubby makes the best candied jalapeños and that’s the best place to get them. We wound up buying 20# of jalapeños. Luckily we were planning on making jalapeños quickly because we had to take a few that were almost past where we should have been buying them, but hubby wanted 20# and we got him 20#’s.

I also giggled while at Duluth because most of the vehicles in the parking lot were trucks, mine included. 😆

Playoffs 2017 – Kansas City Chiefs versus Pittsburgh Steelers

This happens to be hubby and my second playoffs game to attend. This year though, it was a home game!! We were division champions which gave us a bye-week and then a home field advantage game. I wish I was in to baseball more than I am… but if you remember back in 2015 when the Royals were on their way to winning the world series, Kansas City was painted blue… well with the Chiefs in the playoffs, Kansas City painted the town RED!! Because remember, this is Chiefs Kingdom!

Initially our game was supposed to be a noon thirty (12:30) game, but we got notification a couple days before (if that) that it had been moved to a 7:35pm game. The gates opened for tailgating like 5 or 6 hours ahead of game where normally it’s a couple. It was CRAZY!

We can haul a gooseneck

When hubby bought his truck, it’s a 3/4 ton Ford without gooseneck trailer hauling abilities. That seemed extremely crazy to me. Normally a bigger truck has the set up to haul a gooseneck trailer and when most of your trailers are gooseneck’s… you kind of need that ability. We did our research and we were able to purchase a B&W Turnover ball to place in the bed, all we had to do was drive out to Humboldt Kansas to the factory to have it put in.

Horse ‘n Around on Halloween

After we went to the Trunk or Treat at the hospital, Abug and I met up with hubby and Jared and went down to our campground where we ride horses. They were having a Halloween shindig called Horse ‘n Around on Halloween (I think that’s what it was called anyway… lol). There was also a Costume contest and a Chili Feed. Jody brought JP down with her and we dressed the girls up, but we didn’t get any pictures of them in the costume parade. We then took them back, dressed them back in regular clothing and went for the Chili Feed.

Normally I don’t like chili but they made some without beans so I tried it. I must say, it was good. Part of the reason I “don’t like chili” is I ate a lot of it as a kid. I kind of burned out on it. That and we made it so spicy that one bite and your lips were ON FIRE. This was mild and really hit the spot!

Chiefs vs the New York Jets

We were back at it Sunday morning. Time to load ’em up and head ’em out… out to Kansas City that is to go watch our Chiefs play the New York Jets! I’d been watching the weather all week and we bounced around for Kansas City weather from 100% chance of rain to 60% chance of rain back to 100% chance of rain. At home we started out with a beautiful sunrise, but the clouds quickly ate the sunrise.

We loaded the Chiefs bus and headed toward KC.

On the way up we got a glimpse of the sunrise but then, it was gone and all we had was cloud cover.
